Teen Open Studio Workshops: Diorama Video Making

Learn video recording techniques

Explore the stories behind some of the most famous dioramas at The Field Museum. Discover why The Field has these dioramas and then create a video to tell the behind-the-scene stories of them. From the Fighting African Elephants to the Four Seasons, teens will explore the art and science of the dioramas and then receive a crash course in video production to create a video about the dioramas for our digital museum. No prior video experience necessary.

Get inspired by different corners of The Field Museum’s collections and research and create artifacts for the Open Studio Digital Museum. Each month we’ll explore a different area of the The Field Museum’s nearly 30 million objects and then head to the Grainger Digital Media Studio for a design project based on the Museum’s collection. Check out individual events to learn about that month's topic and to RSVP.

Open Studio Workshops are free to teens between 14 and 18, but you must RSVP. Workshops run from 10AM-12PM, and the Studio will stay open until 3PM so you can keep working on your projects, play a game, or try something new.
