Teen Open Studio Workshops: Mass Extinction Stickers

Learn to use design software for this project

Walk through Evolving Planet and learn about the many mass extinctions that have occurred throughout life on Earth. Currently we are experiencing the 6th mass extinction, of which many scientists believe is due to our destructive human activities. Afterwards, create a sticker that draws people’s attention to the important matter of conservation and species extinction.

Participants will be using design software and a digital cutter to create their stickers and have to take home and spread their message. No prior design experience necessary.

Get inspired by different corners of The Field Museum’s collections and research and create artifacts for the Open Studio Digital Museum. Each month you’ll explore a different area of the The Field Museum’s nearly 30 million objects and then head to the Grainger Digital Media Studio for a design project based on the Museum’s collection.

Open Studio Workshops are free to teens between 14 and 18, but you must register in advance. Workshops run from 10AM-12PM, and the Studio will stay open until 3PM so you can keep working on your projects, play a game, or try something new.
