Dare to Dream: STEM Conference for Latina girls

Hands-on STEM activities and workshops

Dare to Dream: STEM Conference is a FREE fun and inspiring conference geared toward increasing the participation, retention and advancement of the number of Latina girls in science, technology, engineering and math. By using local volunteers to lead workshops, girls and parents/mentors meet with mathematicians, engineers and scientists who live and work in their own communities, who serve as role models at the conference and as possible mentors in the future. They will share details about her career, answer questions, and giving you a little taste of daily life in their workplace. The girls will also have a tour in Fermilab, the most advanced high energy physics laboratory in the world.

BREAKFAST AND LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED.

Girls attending the Conference will:


  • Engage in hands-on activities and workshops

  • Become aware of the wide variety of career opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math

  • Gain a new enthusiasm for STEM

  • Meet and connect with awesome female role models

  • Learn the importance of taking classes in science, math and technology in middle school and high school

  • Leave with the knowledge and understanding that women have the capability to be successful in the professions of science, technology and engineering
