Discuss the history of food

Food! Since we first started roaming the earth, humans have been driven by our need for food. From our past when we spent much of our day hunting and gathering, to the modern day where a bonanza of food choices is readily available to us in grocery stores and restaurants, food not only drives our daily lives but has become a hobby and cultural experience. Join our two food experts, chef Graham Elliot and anthropologist William Parkinson as they talk about how food has and continues to shape us. This event will be held at The Field Museum.

Schedule of events:

  • 5-5:30pm - Pizza and socializing

  • 6:45pm - Program ends

Investigate the intersection of science and culture at curioCITY, a brand-new teen-only evening. A conversation with a Field Museum scientist combined with a professional in a cultural career to explore what ties together their seemingly unconnected paths. Each session explores a new a new aspect of science and culture.
