Girl Power! Apps and Snacks Workshop

A mother-daughter workshop to learn to code Android apps!

Come discover why girls are awesome at coding apps! You probably have lots of apps you use and love, but have you ever wondered how they were made? Did you ever think that you could make an app too?

Using MIT’s App Inventor, an easy-to-use program that relies on “drag and drop” blocks of code to build apps for Android phones, girls and their mothers can arrive as beginners and walk out having built two functional apps: “Crystal Ball,” which answers questions like a high-tech Magic 8 Ball® , and “My Best Advice,” a personalized mobile guidebook of favorite places to go and things to do.
