Join community members, students, local leaders, and avid technologists as they come together to innovate as part of a nationwide initiative that encourages anyone to build solutions for their communities. Northern Illinois University STEAM Works is proud to host the inaugural Hack for Change.
Who should get involved?
Anyone who wants to make a difference in their own community. Students, community organizers, social service agencies, civic hackers, government staff, developers, designers, and anyone with the passion to make their city better.
Join Hack for Change and innovate for change!
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Everyone is welcome. Middle school, high school, and college/university students are encouraged to attend. This looks great on a resume or college application. Perfect event to network, gain some experience, and even learn a little bit!
Community members and professional coders are also invited to attend.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Free parking is available in the parking deck and lot near Holmes Student Center on campus.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Make sure to bring your own computer. We know hackers and coders prefer to use their own equipment. You may want to bring a snack or sandwich; sadly we will not be providing food due to budget constraint.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 815-753-2090.
